The Deputy Manager Sorting Operations supports the Sorting Operations Manager in overseeing daily operations with the goal of improving production efficiency increasing overall production volumes and maintaining product quality.
The role combines hands-on operational executionpeople coordination and process improvement while being fully capable of replacing the Manager when required and supporting the setup and scaling of operations in newly opened sorting centers.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Support execution of the production program and operational plans according to defined KPIs
Monitor and improve sorting and operational processes
Support and partially manage staff and middle management teams
Support inventory and stock management
Resolve internal and external operational issues
Act as operational lead in the absence of the Sorting Operations Manager
Support scaling and standardization of operations in new sorting centers
Duties
Support monitoring of business volumes and timely processing of orders
Track and support KPIs such as productivity absenteeism and efficiency
Perform basic data analysis to identify recurring operational problems and support solutions
Regularly inspect work areas and processes to identify improvement opportunities
Identify and address operational inefficiencies (downtime workflow gaps quality issues)
Ensure proper allocation of personnel equipment and materials on assigned areas
Support and implement process improvements on a rolling basis
Monitor employee performance and productivity
Conduct regular operational check-ins with team leaders and staff
Provide feedback and operational guidance to employees
Support inventory level tracking and stock availability
Collaborate daily with other business units (logistics planning technical product quality)
Manager Replacement & Scaling Responsibilities
Fully replace the Sorting Operations Manager during absences including:
oOperational decision-making
oStaff coordination and prioritization
oKPI monitoring and issue escalation
Travel to newly opened or ramp-up sorting centers to:
oSupport implementation of operational standards
oTransfer know-how and best practices
oSupport stabilization of productivity and quality
Support benchmarking of sorting operations and application of best practices across sites
People Development & Team Support
Support development of sorting facility teams and middle management
Assist in building strong supervisors and team leaders
Contribute to succession planning and team continuity
Promote operational discipline engagement and accountability
Requirements
Experience and knowledge in production or operations management
Experience in a supervisory deputy от management role
Knowledge of operational KPIs and basic budgeting concepts
Experience in reporting or supporting reporting on production metrics
Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
Strong organizational and communication skills
Result-oriented and hands-on mindset
Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software
