ROLE SUMMARY
We are building a specialist premium pre-owned goods service in Kiulap and are looking for a hands-on specialist who can inspect restore document and prepare branded bags shoes small leather goods and accessories for resale. This is not a desk-only evaluator role. You must be comfortable handling cleaning and documenting items personally while protecting their condition value and chain of custody.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive tag photograph and document every item at intake including accessories packaging customer-reported history defects and requested work.
Inspect materials construction stitching hardware logos stamps serial or date codes edge paint soles linings and other brand-specific details.
Perform careful cleaning and restoration on leather suede nubuck canvas textile rubber and metal hardware within your demonstrated skill and authorization.
Handle conditioning polishing stain and odour treatment minor colour touch-up and basic repairs using material-compatible methods.
Test products and techniques on an inconspicuous area first identify high-risk work and refuse or escalate work that may damage the item.
Conduct evidence-based preliminary authenticity screening record the checks performed and clearly identify uncertainty.
Escalate uncertain or high-value items to an approved independent authentication service. Never issue unsupported authenticity guarantees.
Grade item condition consistently and prepare accurate listings covering brand model material measurements accessories repairs wear and disclosed flaws.
Provide clear customer consultations restoration recommendations realistic limitations quotations and progress updates.
Maintain secure storage item identification before-and-after photographs work logs material usage and collection or return records.
Support pricing research stock control merchandising online listings order fulfilment and customer service for the premium pre-owned store.
Identify suspicious counterfeit or potentially stolen goods and follow the approved refusal and escalation process.
Keep the workshop clean and organised follow chemical safety and PPE requirements and maintain tools and product inventory.
Help develop practical SOPs quality checks training materials and service improvements as the operation grows.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 2 years of directly relevant experience in premium or luxury retail pre-owned consignment authentication leathercraft cobbler work bag restoration shoe care or a closely related field.
A portfolio or clear examples of previous restoration inspection or authentication work.
Strong knowledge of materials construction quality wear patterns safe cleaning methods and common counterfeit indicators.
Excellent attention to detail manual dexterity visual inspection ability and honest judgement.
Strong customer communication and the ability to explain risks limitations and condition issues without overpromising.
Comfortable using digital tools for photographs records inventory listings and customer updates.
Able to work hands-on maintain a clean workstation and support weekend or retail operating hours when required.
Based in Brunei or legally eligible to work in Brunei.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Formal training in authentication leathercraft restoration footwear repair or premium retail.
Experience with independent authentication platforms or specialist inspection tools.
Familiarity with well-known premium brands and their materials construction and product identifiers.
Experience with e-commerce listings POS systems inventory control resale pricing or consignment operations.
APPLICATION AND ASSESSMENT

Shortlisted candidates may complete a practical assessment using a non-customer test item and prepare a written condition and authenticity-screening report. Candidates who are strong in restoration but still developing authentication skills or strong in authentication but developing restoration skills may be considered if they have excellent foundations and are willing to cross-train.

You will be expected to learn and improve the intake and chain-of-custody process complete safe and well-documented trial restorations produce accurate condition reports avoid item mix-ups or unsupported authenticity claims and help establish a dependable premium pre-owned customer experience in Kiulap.
