Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

Location: (Remote / Hybrid / On-site City Country) Remote

Job Description:

The Connected Tools Engineering Software Engineer leads designs implements and tests software in support of telematics device data collection & controls strategies.

• Derive technical specifications from business requirements.
• Expertise in applying technical standards new technologies and methodologies to solve challenges in innovative ways
• Architect and implement embedded software features for the Allison digital & connected tools.
• Lead develop & release software using quality processes & change management tools.
• Develops and maintains the embedded software architecture of the telematics device.
• Collaborates in cross-discipline engineering groups to accomplish project goals.
• Perform functional and unit testing system validation automated testing to ensure traceability to requirements.
• Work with in cross-functional engineering teams including Systems Algorithm Calibration and Validation engineers to develop existing and new products.
• Analyze software behavior to find root cause for unexpected or unacceptable operation.
• Describe & present work results to peers and managers as needed.
• Conduct reviews of software engineering work.

• BS or diploma in Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Required Experience: 8 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience developing & architecting software solutions for embedded or IoT devices.
• Experience with C/C/Rust or other compiled software languages and Python.
• Experience with embedded Linux operating systems such as Debian.
• Experience with runtime engines such as Docker or Containerd.
• Experience with design and development of new product development.
• Knowledge of software version control & change management.
• Knowledge of Github actions.
• Knowledge of Azure CI/CD Pipeline
