Databricks & Snowflake Data Engineer (Spanish-speaking) Contractor

We are looking for a Senior Snowflake & Databricks Data Engineer to support a Snowflake-to-Databricks migration project. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with both Snowflake and Databricks with a proven background in designing developing and optimizing data pipelines and modern data platforms.

You will be responsible for supporting data migration activities building and optimizing data pipelines implementing transformation logic and ensuring reliable data processing across Snowflake and Databricks environments.

This is a remote contractor opportunity open to candidates based in any LATAM timezone. Spanish language proficiency is required.

Main Tasks

• Support Snowflake-to-Databricks data migration activities
• Design and implement scalable data pipelines in Snowflake and Databricks
• Develop data ingestion and transformation processes from various sources
• Migrate and optimize existing data workflows ETL processes and transformation logic
• Build and maintain data transformations using SQL Python dbt and other data engineering tools
• Work with Databricks technologies including Apache Spark-based data processing
• Optimize pipelines for performance scalability cost efficiency and maintainability
• Automate data workflows and orchestration processes using tools such as Airflow or similar technologies
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions
• Ensure data quality and reliability throughout migration and development processes

Qualifications :

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Data Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks (DBX) and Spark-based data processing
• Experience with Snowflake-to-Databricks migration projects is highly preferred
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with complex data transformations
• Experience with Python and modern data engineering tools
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline development
• Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar
• Ability to work independently in a remote contractor environment
• Fluent Spanish communication skills
• Strong technical and business English (oral reading and writing)
• Availability to work within LATAM time zones
