Job Summary

Senior Project Assistant Nature Development Projects
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Assistant to support the delivery of public-sector nature development and restoration projects. The role combines administrative technical legal and procedural support while coaching project managers and newly onboarded team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the initiation and follow-up of preparatory studies (archaeology ecohydrology topographical surveys environmental assessments etc.).
  • Prepare and review technical specifications tender documents and procurement files.
  • Advise project managers on public procurement procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with the preparation submission and follow-up of environmental permit applications.
  • Manage procurement processes evaluation award documentation and administrative follow-up.
  • Maintain and manage procurement files within the 3P platform.
  • Coach project managers and new administrative staff on permits procurement and project procedures.
  • Support team planning onboarding activities and coordination tasks.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with public procurement procedures.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications for nature development or environmental projects.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental permits and related legal procedures.
  • Experience using the 3P procurement platform.
  • Good understanding of project management practices and public-sector regulations.
  • Knowledge of ecohydrology is an asset.
Languages
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch.
Location
  • Hasselt Belgium (primary location).
  • Occasional travel to Brussels and other locations.
  • Hybrid working model with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite.
Contract
  • Long-term assignment with possible extensions.
  • Interviews scheduled for early July (online or onsite).
