Senior AWS Cloud Architect (Hybrid Cloud) Brussels Belgium

Contract: September 2026 December 2026 (4 Months Full-Time)

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Architect to support a major cloud transformation initiative within a large public-sector environment in Belgium. You will work closely with internal infrastructure service operations and service delivery teams to design secure and implement a scalable hybrid cloud platform based on AWS best practices.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring deep expertise in AWS cloud security infrastructure as code networking automation and governance.

• Design and implement a robust and scalable AWS landing zone.
• Define and manage AWS organizational structures using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and CloudFormation).
• Implement and govern AWS Service Control Policies (SCPs).
• Configure AWS Identity Center and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO) with external identity providers.
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory frameworks including NIS2 and ISO 27001.
• Establish data classification encryption and security policies across the cloud environment.
• Design logging monitoring archiving and backup strategies.
• Implement secure connectivity between AWS environments and on-premises datacenters.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud automation processes.
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based golden path templates and reusable infrastructure modules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer.

• Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect in enterprise-scale AWS environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong experience with:

  • Cloud Security & Governance
  • GitLab CI/CD
  • Hybrid Cloud Architectures
  • Networking and Connectivity Solutions
• Experience implementing security controls compliance frameworks and cloud governance models.
• Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) expertise.
• Knowledge of Java is considered an advantage.

• AWS Professional-level certifications (Solutions Architect Professional Security Specialty etc.).
• Experience in highly regulated or public-sector environments.
• Familiarity with NIS2 ISO 27001 and enterprise security standards.
• Experience with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and large-scale cloud operations.

• Dutch or French (working proficiency)
• English (working proficiency)

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
• Passion for cloud innovation automation security and knowledge sharing.
• Proven track record delivering complex cloud transformation projects.
