Job Summary

Progress OpenEdge Developer

We are looking for an experienced Progress OpenEdge Developer to maintain modernize and enhance business-critical applications. You will work in a hybrid environment combining traditional ABL development with modern API-driven architectures using PASOE. As part of a team of Progress experts you will collaborate closely with analysts project managers and business stakeholders to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop maintain and enhance applications using Progress OpenEdge ABL.
  • Design optimize and manage OpenEdge database structures and access.
  • Build expose and maintain APIs using PASOE (Progress Application Server for OpenEdge).
  • Analyze and improve application performance including queries transactions and locking mechanisms.
  • Integrate applications with internal and external systems.
  • Participate in technical analysis troubleshooting and solution design.
  • Ensure code quality maintainability and adherence to development standards.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience with Progress OpenEdge / ABL.
  • Expertise in:
    • Temp-tables datasets and buffers.
    • Transactions and locking mechanisms (NO-LOCK SHARE-LOCK EXCLUSIVE-LOCK).
    • OpenEdge database design and performance optimization.
    • API development and integration.
    • PASOE (Progress Application Server for OpenEdge).
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with .NET technologies.
  • Familiarity with Progress Developer Studio (PDSOE) or other modern IDEs.
  • Knowledge of APIDOG.
  • Experience working in modern API-centric environments.
