Mainframe Storage Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage and optimize storage operations within a z/OS environment. The role focuses on ensuring storage availability performance data integrity and recovery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain IBM DS8000 storage systems.
- Ensure high availability and optimal storage performance.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using GDPS.
- Plan future storage capacity and performance requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate with Mainframe and cross-functional IT teams.
- Support storage infrastructure migration and modernization activities.
Requirements
- 810 years of relevant experience in Mainframe Storage Engineering.
- Strong experience with z/OS storage environments.
- Hands-on experience with IBM DS8000.
- Good knowledge of GDPS backup and disaster recovery.
- Strong understanding of storage capacity and performance management.
- Knowledge of data security and integrity requirements.
- REXX or Python scripting experience is a plus.
- Experience with storage infrastructure migration is an advantage.
