Architectural Design

On behalf of one of our clients a leading company in the retail sector in Belgium we are looking for an Architect specialising in Architectural Design and Project Development for a temporary assignment lasting several months.

In this role you will be involved in various projects relating to the refurbishment transformation and modernisation of commercial premises from the initial architectural concept through to project implementation.

Responsibilities

Analyse the requirements of internal stakeholders and translate them into architectural and technical solutions that meet operational needs.

Conduct preliminary feasibility studies and develop initial design proposals taking into account budget constraints project timelines and quality standards.

Develop architectural concepts and carry out the technical studies required to bring projects to completion.

Prepare technical specifications tender documentation and detailed drawings necessary for the execution of construction works.

Ensure that projects comply with applicable urban planning environmental and building regulations.

Prepare and submit applications for planning and environmental permits monitor their progress and liaise with the relevant authorities.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders involved in the design and implementation of projects.

Coordinate architectural aspects with construction teams technical installation specialists and space planning teams.

Monitor project progress identify potential challenges and propose appropriate solutions to ensure that project objectives are achieved.

Collect and analyse project-related information and prepare progress reports and summaries for relevant stakeholders.

Profile

You hold a Masters degree in Architecture and are registered with the relevant professional Architects Association (Order of Architects).

You have at least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role preferably involving commercial buildings retail environments or professional space planning projects.

You have strong expertise in architectural design technical documentation and administrative procedures related to construction projects.

You have a solid understanding of the regulations governing construction renovation and building transformation projects.

You possess strong analytical skills and can translate functional requirements into practical architectural solutions.

You are well-organised detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality work.

You can manage multiple priorities efficiently and meet deadlines.

You enjoy working in a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders from different professional backgrounds.

You demonstrate autonomy a proactive approach and strong coordination skills.

You are proficient in Dutch and/or French with a good command of the other language. Excellent proficiency in Dutch is considered a significant advantage.

Additional Information

Start date: Early December 2026.

Contract duration: Initial 3-month assignment with the possibility of an extension depending on business needs.

Work location: Kobbegem Belgium on-site presence at the clients offices with the possibility of working remotely up to 2 days per week.
