Due to continued growth we are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead our workshop team at our modern Gap Ridge facility in Karratha.
This is a permanent full time opportunity residential to Karratha. FIFO from Perth may be considered for the right candidate.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our workshop ensuring our fleet is maintained safely efficiently and to the highest standard.
You will lead a team of skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics Auto Electrical Mechanics and apprentices while coordinating maintenance activities to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and mentor workshop employees apprentices and contractors
- Allocate daily work and manage workshop priorities
- Coordinate scheduled servicing preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Ensure all maintenance is completed safely efficiently and to manufacturer standards
- Assist with diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs where required
- Monitor workshop productivity quality and compliance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Liaise with operations to minimise equipment downtime
- Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example
- Identify opportunities to improve workshop performance and processes
About You
You are an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic with proven leadership experience and enjoy developing people while delivering high-quality maintenance outcomes.
Youll ideally have:
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic
- Previous experience leading a workshop or maintenance team
- Strong knowledge of heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment
- Experience with Volvo or European trucks (highly regarded)
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Sound computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems
- HR Licence
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A proactive approach to safety quality and continuous improvement
