Vocal Teacher

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher - Voice to join the Australian School of the Arts (ASTA) at Sheldon College for a Term 4 Long Service Leave cover.

Working within one of Australias leading school performing arts programs you will deliver engaging individual and group vocal lessons fostering students technical development confidence and love of performance. You will also support the Colleges vibrant vocal program through ensemble rehearsals performances and preparation for examinations and productions.

This role includes responsibility for student safety and wellbeing requiring compliance with the Colleges Child Safe Standards policies and procedures and all relevant legislative and duty of care obligations.

This is a fixed-term opportunity for Term 4 2026

About you

• Tertiary qualification majoring in Voice (or currently completing)
• Musical Theatre or Classical vocal background with the ability to teach Classical Musical Theatre Jazz and Contemporary/Pop styles
• Industry experience and/or an active performing background
• Experience teaching individual and group vocal performance
• Competent piano accompanying (chord charts) and sight-singing skills
• Ability to prepare students for AMEB or Trinity examinations performances and productions
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with students parents and colleagues
• Collaborative approach with a passion for developing young performers

• Demonstrated understanding of child safety wellbeing and duty of care responsibilities
• Commitment to maintaining a safe inclusive and supportive environment for all students
• Ability to uphold and implement the Colleges Student Safety and Wellbeing policies and Staff Code of Conduct
• Completion of mandatory Child Protection training
