Systems Engineering and Safety Assurance Manager

About the Employer
Our client is an infrastructure engineering and construction contractor delivering transport civil and energy projects. Its teams work across design construction and project delivery in Australia.

The Opportunity
Direct systems engineering and safety assurance for a major integrated station development in Parramatta. Leading a multidisciplinary team you will manage lifecycle assurance across station systems civil works and associated development coordinating verification integration and regulatory compliance.

Your Responsibilities
Develop systems engineering and assurance plans aligned with ISO 15288 and EN 50126.
Lead HAZID HAZOP and quantified risk assessment activities and maintain effective hazard-log governance.
Oversee requirements allocation traceability and interface management using platforms such as DOORS.
Prepare safety cases and assurance arguments for client independent assessor and rail regulator approvals.
Direct verification and validation across design and construction deliverables.
Resolve safety-in-design and integration issues with design partners and construction teams.
Represent the project in technical forums with clients regulators and transport or utility authorities.

Requirements
Skills Education and Requirements
An engineering qualification in electrical systems mechanical civil or a related technical field.
At least ten years in SESA or RAMS on major infrastructure; Australian Tier 1 rail or metro experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of EN 50126 EN 50128 EN 50129 and NSW ASA/AMDB frameworks.
Experience managing safety-in-design hazard logs and system safety cases through client and regulatory approval.
Advanced requirements-platform capability including DOORS and knowledge of systems integration methods.
Ability to influence senior leaders clients and independent safety assessors through clear communication and negotiation.
