Your New Role and Responsibilities
This role has been created to support a Sydneybased Defence customer delivering critical service coordination and operational support across a complex ICT environment.
We are seeking an experienced Software-Defined Environment (SOE) Engineer to support the planning development testing and deployment of a Windows 11 Standard Operating Environment across the enterprise. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition from Windows 10 to Windows 11 aligning with organisational security compliance and performance standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with maintaining the Windows 11 Standard Operating Environment (SOE) image using tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
- Package and test applications (MSI AppV MSIX) for Windows 11 compatibility.
- Experience with client virtualisation technologies
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to ensure SOE compliance with organisational policies.
- Conduct pilot deployments and gather feedback to refine the SOE.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SOE-related issues during testing and rollout phases.
- Document SOE configurations deployment procedures and support guides.
- Provide technical support and training to IT support teams during the transition.
- Participate in change management and risk assessment processes.
What Youll Bring to Make an Impact
- 2 years of proven experience in SOE engineering and desktop deployment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 architecture and deployment methodologies.
- Proficiencywith MECM/SCCM PowerShell scripting and Group Policy.
- Experience with application packaging and compatibility testing.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and enterprise security standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
