• Unique opportunity to join a high performing team working closely with primary and secondary schools and supporting current UWA students to champion diversity in higher education.
• Two Full-time appointments on a fixed term basis until 31 January 2027
• Base salary range: $86540 $95 920 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Student Equity and Accessibility teams facilitate a high-quality student experience focused on access and support for students that enrich an inclusive student experience including the development of a dedicated first year experience. The Student Equity and Accessibility portfolio is responsible for the oversight of the Student Access and Participation Framework which through local ownership and accountability the University community seeks to empower all students to aspire to achieve and thrive at The University of Western Australia (UWA).

UWA has a range of student equity and access programs through the Student Equity team within Student Life including:

• Aspire UWA works with 70 partner schools and communities in regional Western Australia and Perth to raise aspirations for tertiary education.
• Broadway Connect is a support program for first-year students offering online mentoring and on-campus events.
• The WA Childrens University Partnership supports underrepresented primary students in Perth and regional WA fostering lifelong learning.
• Fairway UWA is an academic support program for Year 12 students who are high achievers aiming for university and are experiencing financial disadvantage.
• The Girls in Engineering (GiE) program inspires female students to take advantage of STEM study and the career pathways focusing on areas of science where women are underrepresented.

About the opportunity

• Support the delivery of Student Equity programs including Aspire UWA Fairway UWA and Broadway Connect with a focus on outreach access and participation for Indigenous regional and low-SES students.
• Engage and present to diverse audiences including high school students parents and key influencers through public speaking event facilitation and hands-on workshop delivery.
• Contribute to the delivery of dynamic campus activities school visits community events online programs residential experiences and regional tours including overnight stays and travel to regional centre

About you

• Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent competency along with substantial experience in project coordination event support and administration.
• Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage competing priorities meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a busy environment.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including experience in public speaking and preparing clear professional correspondence and materials.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse cultural educational and age backgrounds.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to equity and diversity including the barriers to university access and successful transition for underrepresented groups.
