As a Strategy Associate you will be responsible for driving key modules on Group strategy projects under the direction of a manager in collaboration with senior stakeholders. You will own and drive complex detailed analysis and recommendations development on topics that are unique in nature and have high-value and high-impact outcomes for the Qantas Group. Strategy projects are generally initiated internally or at the direction of the Board Exco Group CEO or Group CFO. Examples of project topics may include international growth and expansion profit optimisation capital efficiency and effectiveness and technology and AI enabled transformation.
As an Associate you will also be responsible for driving the creation of content developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and collaboratively developing solutions that assist senior management in making significant strategic decisions. To be successful in this role you will be expected to use the traditional strategy toolkit as well as using AI platforms to uplift efficiency and quality of insights and outputs.
What youll bring to the role:
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time professional experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm (such as Bain BCG McKinsey or Kearney) investment bank or in-house corporate strategy function
- A strong strategy toolkit with outstanding problem-solving analytical communication project management and teamwork skills
- Experience and exposure to a broad range of industries and complex strategic topics. Airline industry transportation or heavy industry exposure is desirable but not essential
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Highly structured style and results-oriented approach and the intellectual capability to quickly understand and apply new concepts and think laterally
- Proven ability to create high-quality quantitative analysis and written materials for presentation to senior management and ExCo
- Advanced proficiency in Excel Word and PowerPoint experience working with AI tools and experimenting with fit-for-purpose use cases
- Sound organisational skills with an ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
- Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills and a high level of emotional intelligence to work successfully with a broad range of stakeholders across the Qantas Group
- Emotional intelligence and maturity to deal with sensitive and confidential business projects
- A high level of commitment and professionalism
- A strong interest in the airline industry and a desire to gain knowledge and experience across a variety of Qantas Group businesses
- A desire to work in and contribute to a diverse collaborative high-performing and social team environment
