Solution Architect

Were partnering with a leading organisation in the energy sector to recruit a highly experienced Solution Architect for an initial 12-month engagement. This is a key role working on business-critical digital systems where youll help shape the architecture of bespoke applications supporting operational technology and market systems.

Were looking for a hands-on architect who enjoys working closely with development teams and can bridge high-level architecture with detailed technical design.

• Define and deliver solution architecture for complex on-premise bespoke applications.
• Work closely with Technical Leads and Senior Developers to translate architecture into detailed solution designs.
• Contribute to and review detailed design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Architect secure applications ensuring solutions align with modern application security standards.
• Design solutions that support fully automated application deployment.
• Provide architectural guidance across integration application design and delivery activities.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure architecture is implemented effectively and consistently.
• Support systems that interface with Operational Technology (OT) environments and critical business applications.

To be successful in this role youll have:

• Extensive experience as a Solution Architect working with complex bespoke on-premise applications.
• Strong experience designing secure application architectures in line with modern security standards.
• Proven ability to work closely with Technical Leads and Senior Developers throughout design and delivery.
• Experience translating high-level architecture into detailed technical designs and documentation.
• Experience working with Operational Technology (OT) systems or applications that interface with OT environments.
• Previous experience within the energy utilities or critical infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of application environments built on:
  • .NET
  • SQL Server
  • REST APIs
  • RabbitMQ
• Experience designing architectures that support fully automated deployment and modern delivery practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across architecture development and delivery teams.
