Location- Perth Australia (with regular travel to Port Hedland and occasional travel to Kalgoorlie)

We are currently seeking a Senior SHE Business Partner to support Western Australia. This person supports three sites across Perth Kalgoorlie and Port Headland and has a SHE Business Partner directly reporting to them.

What youll do

  • Safety First:Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

  • Strategic Leadership:Develop implement and oversee strategic SHE initiatives aligned with business objectives to drive a high-performing safety culture. Provide expert advice to senior leaders on SHE matters emerging risks and legislative changes. Lead regional SHE improvement initiatives and embed accountability for SHE outcomes across the business.

  • Compliance & Risk Management:Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant safety health and environmental regulations. Conduct audits and inspections escalate unresolved risks and verify the effectiveness of critical risk controls. Lead the development and review of Site Emergency Management Plans.

  • Engagement & Training:Collaborate with Learning & Development and operational leaders to identify SHE capability needs. Develop and oversee targeted training programs coach leaders and SHE personnel and monitor training effectiveness to build organisational capability.

  • Incident Management:Lead ICAM investigations for significant incidents ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions. Support and coach leaders in incident investigations and monitor incident trends to drive continuous improvement

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:Build strong relationships with operational leaders employees contractors customers and external stakeholders. Maintain a regular physical presence at sites through visits and leadership engagement. Represent Weir at external forums and promote SHE excellence.

  • Continuous Improvement:Champion the Weir Zero Harm behaviours program and drive SHE cultural maturity. Lead strategic improvement initiatives conduct benchmarking and analyse SHE performance data to identify opportunities for enhancement.

  • Role specifics:This role is predominantly site-based with an expectation of being onsite five days per week. The successful candidate will travel regularly including monthly trips to Port Hedland and approximately three annual visits to Kalgoorlie. Success will be measured by improved SHE performance strong stakeholder engagement and effective leadership in high-risk operational environments.

What youll bring

Must-haves:

  • Formal safety qualifications and ICAM investigation certification/training

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a safety role within heavy industrial manufacturing or mining environments

  • Proven ability to engage effectively across all organisational levels from frontline employees to senior leadership

  • Strong leadership communication and stakeholder engagement skills with a practical operational focus

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with Shield systems (trainable on the job)

  • Previous people leadership experience

  • Exposure to return-to-work activities and injury management coordination

  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility in high-risk operational settings
