Job Summary

Here at NEXTDC we design and build some of the most advanced data centres in the Asia Pacific and the Services Manager sits at the centre of getting the critical infrastructure right. Youll own the delivery and commissioning of all critical equipment across our mission critical projects working alongside principal contractors service trades commissioning agents and our own Engineering and Design leads.

This is a hands on client side role where safety program and quality all sit with you. If you enjoy complex builds with real accountability and want your work to stand behind Australias digital infrastructure this is it.

  • Client side services and commissioning leadership on new build data centre projects
  • Own the installation and commissioning program from planning through to handover
  • Work directly with principal contractors trades vendors and consultants
  • Uptime Institute Tier III and Tier IV environments
  • Data Centre multi level structured commissioning
  • Genuine influence over design cost and constructability decisions
  • Safety first culture with visible executive support

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing installation and commissioning plans detailed program and project phasing strategies
  • Managing the principal contractor service trades equipment vendors and consultants through delivery commissioning and handover
  • Leading safety across design construction commissioning and operation eliminating and engineering out hazards as the first measure
  • Identifying and managing risk to the services installation ahead of program or cost impact
  • Working with cost and commercial managers on commissioning strategy contract negotiation and vendor procurement and selection
  • Implementing quality control defect management and site inspections and ensuring compliance with NEXTDC and customer commissioning acceptance processes

Qualifications :

  • 5 years in data centre or mission critical project or construction management
  • Degree in Construction Management Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or trade qualifications in mechanical or electrical services installation
  • Project management certification such as PRINCE2 or PMP
  • Sound knowledge of data centre design principles across power cooling space and IT infrastructure plus Tier III/IV and Data Centre commissioning
  • Confident leading multidisciplinary teams of contractors vendors and consulting engineers with strong communication and relationship building skills 
  • Proficient with Aconex Procore MS Project or P6 Bluebeam and Revit
