Whats the Role:
As the Service owner (Data Platform Engineering).Youll own the endtoend delivery and evolution of a largescale Azure data platform leading engineering teams to build migrate and modernise data capabilities across the organisation. This role combines deep technical leadership with platform ownership covering roadmap delivery engineering standards migration programs and stakeholder engagement. Youll work closely with architecture security and business teams to ensure the platform is scalable secure costeffective and ready to support advanced analytics AI and enterprise data needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the endtoend delivery of the Azure Data Platform covering ingestion processing storage analytics and consumption layers
- Lead platform roadmap execution capability uplift and major initiatives including ETL/ELT frameworks and data migrations
- Provide engineering leadership across Pythonbased data pipelines and modern data platforms (ADLS Synapse Snowflake Databricks)
- Drive platform reliability security governance and cost optimisation including compliance tooling such as Purview
- Lead complex transformation programs including largescale cloud and legacy migrations and Hadoop modernisation
- Act as the senior stakeholder interface managing delivery resourcing budgets and engineering best practices
Whatdo I need
- Experience in Agile delivery and programme management within complex data environments
- Proven ownership and delivery of Azurebased data platforms endtoend
- Handson and architectural experience with Snowflake and Databricks
- Strong Pythonbased data engineering experience across ingestion transformation and pipeline automation
- Deep expertise across Azure services ETL/ELT frameworks data migrations and legacy modernisation (including Hadoop)
- Demonstrated leadership across teams vendors budgets and senior stakeholders with strong governance and compliance awareness
