Senior Power Systems Engineer Grid Connections Leading Power Engineering Consultancy Perth

Overview

A well-established power engineering consultancy with strong roots in Western Australia is expanding its Perth team. Backed by a major ASX-listed infrastructure group they bring together deep technical expertise and end-to-end delivery capability across the WEM. Their project work spans renewable energy developers NSPs utilities and large industrial clients and their grid connections capability is a core part of what they do.

They are looking for a Senior Power Systems Engineer who can lead grid connection studies and projects in the WEM and who is ready to take on meaningful technical and client-facing responsibility.

What You Will Be Doing

• Leading the delivery of grid connection projects across the WEM from pre-connection through to post-connection support
• Independently managing connection studies in PowerFactory and PSCAD
• Handling connection applications and engaging directly with AEMO Western Power and OEMs
• Owning technical delivery and client interfaces across concurrent projects
• Reviewing designs and technical documentation and providing quality assurance across the team
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers as the team continues to grow
• Harmonics analysis and filter design work where required (desirable experience)

What We Are Looking For

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience delivering grid connection studies and managing connection applications within the WEM
• Proficiency in DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PSCAD
• Strong working knowledge of Western Powers connection requirements and technical rules
• Ability to manage multiple project workstreams and client relationships simultaneously
• Experience with harmonics analysis and filter design is a genuine advantage
• CPEng or eligibility for CPEng accreditation is an advantage
