About the role

The Communications Strategy function is responsible for developing and implementing AEMOs communication strategy engaging employees and positioning the company with external stakeholders in line with and in support of the organisations wider strategic direction and objectives. Communications are central to establishing and maintaining AEMOs reputation and relationships with key external stakeholders including industry government and consumers. Effective communications are integral to AEMOs work and drives engagement in and awareness of our programs and initiatives as we actively shape and plan for Australias energy future.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and continuously enhance AEMOs enterprise narrative message architecture content pillars and approved language framework ensuring a clear consistent and audience-focused voice across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain strategic content resources including message houses key messages FAQs explainers proof points campaign narratives and communication toolkits for priority programs issues and organisational themes.
  • Translate complex technical operational regulatory and strategic information into clear compelling and plain-English content that explains AEMOs role priorities decisions and impact.
  • Lead the review and refinement of high-profile communications campaigns executive materials major publications and digital content ensuring alignment with AEMOs narrative tone of voice evidence base and strategic objectives.
  • Govern and evolve AEMOs library of approved language reusable content assets and messaging resources proactively identifying content gaps emerging issues and audience needs to strengthen organisational communication and engagement.

What you will bring to the role

  • Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Public Relations Marketing Content Strategy or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in content strategy strategic communications corporate affairs editorial leadership copywriting or digital content with demonstrated expertise in developing enterprise narratives and complex communication programs.
  • Proven ability to translate complex technical regulatory operational and strategic information into clear compelling and audience-focused content supported by exceptional writing editing and plain-English communication skills.
  • Strong experience developing and governing message frameworks content strategies campaign messaging web and digital content internal communications stakeholder materials and reusable content assets with a sound understanding of tone of voice accessibility and editorial quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders provide trusted strategic advice and drive consistent messaging across multiple channels and audiences; experience within the energy sector regulatory environment or other complex highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
