About the opportunity

IFYS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join the Practice Hub team in the role of Practice Advisor Service User Safeguarding.

This newly created position will play a key role in strengthening safeguarding practices across the organisation and ensuring compliance with the Reportable Conduct Scheme.

Reporting to the Practice Lead the Practice Advisor will lead the management of client feedback complaints reportable incidents and safeguarding concerns while providing expert guidance that supports safer services and better outcomes for children and young people.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the management of client feedback complaints reportable incidents and safeguarding concerns
  • Coordinate and provide support with investigations ensuring timely outcomes procedural fairness and effective communication.
  • Manage reporting and record keeping compliance with the Reportable Conduct Scheme and related regulatory obligations
  • Provide expert advice coaching and training on complaints management safeguarding reportable conduct and risk management
  • Analyse data to identify trends risks and improvement opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Develop implement and evaluate mechanisms that promote meaningful service user feedback and engagement

Requirements for the role

  • A degree in Social Work Psychology Social Sciences or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working within child protection out-of-home care or statutory care environments
  • Experience managing complaints incident reporting obligations and safeguarding concerns within a regulated environment
  • Sound understanding of the Reportable Conduct Scheme and relevant Queensland legislation
  • Experience preparing regulatory notifications reports and maintaining accurate records
  • Well-developed communication report writing consultation and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to analyse information identify trends and make practical recommendations
  • Flexibility for travel as required

Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful:

  • Valid Queensland Drivers License
  • QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
  • Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
  • National Crime Check (A new check will be completed through IFYS systems)
  • Ability to provide two recent line manager references including your current employer
