Job Description

The Malabar System Alliance Project is seeking an experienced and proactive Planner to join the project team based in Parramatta. This role is responsible for developing maintaining and monitoring project schedules to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives milestones and operational requirements.

Working closely with project managers engineers contractors and key stakeholders the Planner will play a critical role in coordinating project activities managing scheduling risks and providing accurate reporting to support decision-making across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and work programs.

  • Coordinate planning activities across multiple project teams and workstreams.

  • Track project progress against approved baselines milestones and deliverables.

  • Identify schedule risks constraints and potential delays and recommend mitigation strategies.

  • Support resource planning including labour subcontractors equipment and materials.

  • Produce look-ahead schedules and short- and long-term planning reports.

  • Monitor project performance and provide accurate forecasts for project completion.

  • Facilitate planning and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure schedule updates are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Analyse project data and performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Support project controls reporting requirements and change management processes.

  • Maintain planning documentation in accordance with project and Alliance requirements.

  • Promote and maintain a strong commitment to safety quality and environmental standards.

Required Skills and Competencies

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a Planning or Project Scheduling role within infrastructure utilities engineering construction or maintenance environments.

  • Strong understanding of project planning principles and scheduling methodologies.

  • Experience using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent organisation communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Desirable

  • Experience working within Alliance or major infrastructure project delivery models.

  • Knowledge of water utilities transport or civil infrastructure projects.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering Construction Management Project Management Business or a related discipline.
