Job Summary

The Payroll Officer will join IMCs Finance team in Sydney working directly with the Payroll Manager to execute and govern payroll across 5 APAC jurisdictions supporting approximately 350 employees. The role sits within a lean two-person payroll team and plays a critical part in ensuring payroll across IMCs APAC operations runs accurately compliantly and on time.

A key near-term priority is supporting the global payroll migration to Neeyamo; a significant transformation project that will give you hands-on experience in system implementation data validation and cross-regional coordination. Beyond the migration this is a broad and substantive role from day one in a lean high-performing team where you will own real outcomes rather than support a large department.

Your Core Responsibilities

Payroll Execution

  • Execute end-to-end APAC payroll on a monthly cycle
  • Process payroll mutations: new starters terminations salary changes allowances and one-off payments - accurately and on time
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records verify payroll data and resolve discrepancies before payroll close
  • Manage payroll overpayments end-to-end including investigations recovery processes and repayment arrangements
  • Prepare payroll journals and reconciliations for posting to the GL in Workday

Statutory & Compliance

  • Manage Australian statutory payroll obligations including Single Touch Payroll (STP) Payday Super (effective July 2026) payroll tax across applicable states and superannuation
  • Support Hong Kong MPF Korea social insurance and other jurisdiction-specific payroll compliance obligations
  • Ensure payroll setup meets company requirements and records are aligned to policy and regulatory guidelines across all entities
  • Support tax and finance teams with payroll-related data for BAS FBT and year-end statutory reporting

Global Payroll Migration to Neeyamo

  • Play an active role in IMCs global payroll migration to Neeyamo validating data supporting UAT coordinating with regional teams and ensuring a smooth transition without payroll disruption

Stakeholder & Team

  • Partner with HR Finance and regional teams to ensure payroll inputs are accurate timely and complete
  • Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally; this is a service function and accuracy of communication matters as much as accuracy of processing
  • Support the Payroll Manager across ad hoc projects system improvements and process automation initiatives

Your Skills and Experience

  • 2 years of end-to-end payroll experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian statutory payroll obligations including STP superannuation payroll tax and Payday Super
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Experience with multi-country payroll platforms such as Neeyamo ADP Ramco or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Workday experience including exposure to GL integration and journal preparation is an advantage but not required
  • Working knowledge of HK MPF Korea National Pension Service or Japan social insurance is an advantage but not required
  • Deadline-driven with the discipline to manage fixed payroll cycles without exception
  • Self-sufficient asking the right questions without needing significant handholding
  • Service-minded recognising that employees depend on accurate and timely payroll
  • Curious about technology and process improvement with an interest in automation
