An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a large well-established organisation on a fixed-term contract through to March 2027 with the potential for extension.
This is a key leadership role where youll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for more than 600 employees while leading and developing a high-performing team of three payroll professionals. Youll play a critical role in ensuring payroll accuracy compliance and operational excellence while also contributing to a significant payroll transformation initiative.
- Lead the end-to-end payroll function across two fortnightly payroll cycles
- Manage mentor and support a team of three payroll professionals
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll including allowances leave back pay and payroll variations
- Oversee statutory compliance including payroll tax superannuation ATO and ABS reporting requirements
- Manage year-end payroll processes reconciliations and compliance reporting
- Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex payroll queries
- Maintain payroll data integrity and support audit and reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy
- Partner closely with HR Finance and key stakeholders to provide payroll insights and workforce reporting
To be successful in this role youll bring:
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll within a large or complex organisation
- Demonstrated leadership experience with a passion for developing and supporting teams
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation taxation superannuation awards and enterprise agreements
- Experience working in high-volume and complex payroll environments
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas VLOOKUPs and data analysis
- Experience using payroll systems such as Preceda or Dayforce (highly regarded)
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
