Bidgerdii Community Health Service is seeking an enthusiastic community-minded leader to coordinate the delivery of our exciting Nurturing Spirits Program across Blackwater Rockhampton and Mount Morgan.

The Nurturing Spirits Program is a unique Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) initiative focused on strengthening:

Working across multiple communities youll play a key role in delivering programs that empower people celebrate culture and create sustainable positive change.

About the Role
As the Nurturing Spirits Program Coordinator you will lead and coordinate a diverse range of community-led wellbeing initiatives while building strong partnerships across Central Queensland.
You will:
- Coordinate and deliver program activities across Blackwater Rockhampton and Mount Morgan
- Build strong relationships with Elders Traditional Owners families and community leaders
- Facilitate Cultural Wellbeing Yarning Circles youth mentoring programs workshops and community events
- Support community-driven solutions and co-design approaches
- Work collaboratively with schools health services and community organisations
- Monitor outcomes and contribute to reporting and evaluation requirements
- Promote culturally safe practices and strengthen community engagement
- Support the growth and long-term sustainability of the Nurturing Spirits Program
What Were Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing
- A confident relationship-builder who can engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders
- Experienced in community development wellbeing youth services health promotion or social services
- Organised self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities
- Committed to culturally safe strengths-based and community-led approaches
Essential Requirements
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities cultures and values.
- Qualification in Community Services Social Work Human Services Indigenous Studies Health Promotion Youth Work Public Health or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Experience coordinating community health wellbeing or youth programs
- Demonstrated understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures communities and perspectives.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain culturally safe respectful and reciprocal
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- National Police Check
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region
Desirable
- Experience working within Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations health services education providers or community organisations.
- Understanding of rural regional and remote communities and the challenges affecting communities.
- Knowledge of Equity Diversity and Inclusion frameworks and initiatives.
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience in community engagement relationships cultural safety or community services or a related discipline.
