Multi-Hotel Assistant Financial Controller
Job Summary
The right candidate will primarily oversee the Mövenpick Melbourne property with the potential to expand their responsibilities to other properties in the future.
Working closely with the Portfolio Director of Finance General Managers and departmental leaders you will combine strong financial discipline with commercial insight to drive performance improve efficiencies and support strategic decision-making.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for the day-to-day finance operations of the Melbourne property while providing finance support across the wider portfolio including Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Payroll
Preparing accurate and timely financial reporting analysis forecasting and budgeting to support strategic decision-making
Partnering with hotel leaders to identify opportunities to improve profitability manage costs and enhance overall business performance
Ensuring compliance with Accor policies internal controls and statutory requirements including taxation audit and regulatory obligations
Monitoring cash flow credit management and debt recovery activities to protect and optimise business outcomes
Driving continuous improvement of financial systems processes and reporting practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Providing coaching mentoring and support to the Finance team whilst contributing to a high-performing team culture
Building strong relationships with General Managers Owners and key stakeholders to deliver trusted financial guidance and commercial insight
Qualifications :
You are a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with leaders influencing business outcomes and driving continuous improvement. You thrive in a fast-paced environment have a strong attention to detail and are confident balancing operational priorities with strategic financial objectives.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Finance Accounting or related discipline
Previous experience as an Assistant Financial Controller Finance Manager or similar senior finance role ideally within hospitality hotels or a multi-site environment
Strong financial and commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in budgeting forecasting reporting and performance analysis
Sound knowledge of finance controls compliance and statutory requirements including PAYG BAS GST Payroll Tax Workers Compensation Accounts Payable and Superannuation
Proven ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the business
A proactive approach to problem-solving processing improvement and driving operational efficiencies
Experience leading coaching or mentoring team members to support performance and development
Experience using hotel finance payroll and procurement systems such as Opera Cloud Zambion Ready Workforce Human Force Wage Easy Purchase Plus Micros Symphony and Sun Cloud or similar platforms will be highly regarded
CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion) will be highly regarded
