This role will see you coordinate mine planning activities and be accountable for delivery of Business Plan and Monthly Operating Plan mine planning inputs. A high level of strategic thinking planning and problem-solving skills will be instrumental in your success in this role.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent this key role will see you:

• Deliver best practice mining engineering services and support to the mine supporting Zero Harm by ensuring compliance with all safety systems and legislation
• Plan and coordinate mine planning (weekly short-range Monthly 5 yearly and business planning) and production review meetings
• Monitor analyse and report mine on performance and manage projects.
• Contribute to the effective management of ventilation gas management mine planning and technical projects
• Support designated process coordinators and interact effectively with the Operations team
• Identify mine site productivity and process improvement programs and more generally to find and raise improvement ideas in areas such as safety production cost and efficiency
• Lead the permit to mine process to ensure all technical aspects are addressed to maintain continuity to production
• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all site interactions and take full ownership for safety on site

Qualifications :

• Degree qualified Mining Engineer (or equivalent)
• A detailed understanding of the coal mining processes
• Working knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application
• A high level of planning and problem-solving ability
• Well-developed communication and collaboration skills
• Previous experience within underground mining operations (preferably coal)
• Previous experience with mine planning tools such as XPAC IntelliCAD AutoCAD Mine Planner Deswik.

• Monday to Friday staff roster (9-day fortnight available)
