Nowergup WA Temporary Contract until 31 December 2026

CrewSELECT is partnering with a leading rail maintenance organisation to recruit a Mechanical Train Maintainer for project and overhaul work at its Nowergup depot.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Mechanical Fitter Heavy Diesel Mechanic Plant Mechanic or Automotive Mechanic with experience working on rolling stock heavy mobile equipment mining machinery or other heavy industrial equipment.

The Role

You will perform overhaul and project work on passenger railcars and associated equipment. Duties will include:

  • Completing mechanical overhaul and project work
  • Conducting scheduled inspections and maintenance
  • Performing unscheduled repairs and mechanical fault-finding
  • Checking the operation and condition of mechanical equipment
  • Completing work in accordance with technical maintenance manuals
  • Undertaking manual tasks including working above shoulder height

This is a physically demanding role and candidates will need a suitable level of fitness.

About You
  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter Heavy Diesel Mechanic Plant Mechanic or Automotive Mechanic
  • Proven workshop experience with heavy machinery mobile equipment or rolling stock
  • Rail experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Forklift licence is highly regarded
  • Available to complete a one-to-two-week onboarding process
  • Flexible reliable and safety focused
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong time-management and task-prioritisation skills
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to assist wherever required
Required Licences and Qualifications
  • Relevant Australian-recognised Trade Certificate
  • Current Australian drivers licence
