Manager - Internal Audit - Risk Consulting
The opportunity
We are on the lookout for a Manager to join our Process and Controls team focusing on internal audit and assurance services within the government & public sector. This role is about more than audits and controls; its about being a part of a team that is integral to ensuring that government departments and agencies operate at their best. Your work will help to enhance the services government delivers to citizens safeguard public funds ensure compliance with regulations and provide insights that lead to better governance and service delivery.

This role is based in Canberra Ngambri; however we are open to candidates locatedanywhere across Australiawho can workremotely.All you need is relevant experience and Australian Citizenship. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead the delivery internal audit projects ensuring that all engagements are completed on time within scope and to the highest standards of quality.
- Work closely with clients to understand their risks and develop tailored internal audit strategies that effectively address risk management and process controls.
- Apply your project management skills to oversee the successful execution of audit plans from initiation to completion.
Skills and attributes for success
- 5 years experience in project delivery perhaps within the internal audit or risk management space or within the public sector.
- A foundation in risk and control principles a track record of managing audit or risk related projects with diligence and precision or a willingness to learn.
- Australian citizenship and the ability to work in Canberra. The applicant needs to be willing to hold or upgrade to an NV1 clearance.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a passion for solving problems.
- A strong grasp of risk and control principles and a keen understanding of public sector challenges and opportunities.
- A proven track record in leading and delivering challenging projects.
- Knowledge of risk management control frameworks and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of audit quality and integrity.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of professionals through all phases of the audit lifecycle (or similar projects).
- Experience in developing and executing internal audit strategies and roadmaps or a keen interest to learn.
- A consultative approach to building client relationships with a focus on understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
Ideally youll also have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interested in your aptitude attitude and willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication inter-personal and organisational skills with the capacity to influence project teams towards successful delivery.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CPA CIA CISA or similar) or a commitment to achieving them.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance accounting public administration or a related field.
- Experience with digital audit tools and enthusiasm for adopting cutting-edge technologies
