Maintenance Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled preventative corrective and breakdown maintenance on production machinery (new and legacy).
• Diagnose troubleshoot and repair mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic faults.
• Assist with installation commissioning and modification of production equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections lubrication cleaning and adjustments to maintain optimal equipment performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records work orders and spare parts inventory using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Support production line changeovers equipment start-ups and shutdowns.
• Collaborate with Engineering Production and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and drive process improvements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and company safety standards.
• Identify and implement opportunities for equipment upgrades process improvements and cost savings.
• Maintain a clean organised and safe work environment.
• Undertake other duties as assigned within the scope of your skill set.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Electrical Mechatronics or related Engineering field.
• Minimum 35 years experience in maintenance/service of automated production machinery (FMCG packaging plastics or high-speed manufacturing preferred).
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controller PLC-controlled equipment pneumatics hydraulics and modern automated systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings manuals and service documentation.
• Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Highly detailed and maintain a high level of delivery on all work demonstrating high attention to detail and commitment to quality with an analytical approach and strong research skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid drivers licence; forklift licence highly regarded.
• Ability to perform manual handling (up to 10 kg) stand for long periods (up to 7 hours per day) and operate keyboard/PC (approx. 4-7 hours per day).
