Locomotive Driver

Location: Melbourne

Aurizon and Team Global Express (TGE) have a major long-term national contract and this partnership with a cornerstone customer will see Aurizon continue to service Australias growing containerised freight market. The contract provides Aurizon rail linehaul services connecting the state capitals of Perth Adelaide Melbourne Sydney and Brisbane.

Aurizon are currently seeking Qualified Locomotive Drivers to be based at our Vic Dock depot in Melbourne on a full-time permanent arrangement.

About the role:

• Operation of locomotives including shunting and marshalling.
• Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
• Work in accordance with Aurizons safety and operational standards and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of on-time running.
• Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
• Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.

About you:

• Strong commitment to safety and Aurizons safety strategy I Know Safe I Choose Safe.
• Must be available to work a 24/7 shift roster.
• Experience in Victoria Safe Working systems an advantage.
• Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
• A Certificate IV in Rail Operations (or equivalent).
• Current unrestricted drivers licence.
