Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.
Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian doing this we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study careers service and life in general.
We are currently seeking the services of a Learning Support Assistant to work at our Traralgon campus commencing in Term 3 this year.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring Christian environment and provide important assistance to the students and teaching staff in delivering high-quality care and Christian education to students requiring support for their specific learning needs.
Some key responsibilities will include the following:
- Providing a godly example to students and fellow staff members through their practice manner relationships and general lifestyle
- Liaising with subject teachers about students and curriculum requirements
- Assisting students with special needs in the classroom and in private study as well as exam or testing situations
- Maintaining appropriate records with regards to learning support activities and programs
- Attending camps and excursions with students if required
- Preparing resources to support student learning
- Providing general support to teachers in the classroom
- Providing feedback to the classroom teacher with regards to a students academic and social progress
The successful candidate/s will have the following:
- Demonstrated commitment to the schools Statement of Faith
- Qualifications and experience in learning support or related fields (desirable)
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Good computer literacy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
