Are you ready to shape the future of energy infrastructure Our client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Secondary Engineer to join their Transmission & Distribution this role you will play a pivotal part in designing and delivering innovative sustainable and carbon-neutral solutions for substation projects. Your expertise will drive the successful planning design and execution of substation infrastructure ensuring safety reliability and efficiency.
As a Lead Secondary Engineer your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering advanced Substation Secondary systems for distribution and transmission networks (up to 500kV).
- Ensuring strict adherence to quality assurance procedures and technical standards.
- Leading and managing engineering projects within defined scopes ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams including civil structural and primary electrical engineers.
- Contributing to proposal development including scope definition and cost estimation.
- Engaging with regional clients providing expert technical advice and supporting business growth.
- Mentoring and developing junior engineers to enhance team capabilities.
Our client are seeking a candidate who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for innovation. To be successful in this role you will need:
- A Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required).
- Proven experience in High Voltage Secondary Substation design and project delivery (experience with Transgrid projects is highly desirable).
- A strong track record of serving as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
- Demonstrated capability in managing and providing technical leadership to design teams including Global Delivery Centres.
- Experience in managing design projects in compliance with quality management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Your typical day will involve:
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver high-quality substation solutions.
- Leading project meetings and ensuring alignment with client expectations and project timelines.
- Reviewing and approving technical designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Engaging with clients to provide technical expertise and support business development initiatives.
- Monitoring project progress and addressing any challenges to ensure successful delivery.
