Overview

Are you ready to shape the delivery of Australias critical energy infrastructure We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Project Execution this role you will take ownership of medium to large high-complexity high-voltage projects ensuring their successful delivery from contract handover through to customer acceptance and close-out.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager you will:

  • Oversee the full project lifecycle including sales-to-execution handover contract review project kick-off execution planning monitoring customer acceptance and formal close-out.
  • Manage project scope schedule cost resources and deliverables addressing issues and constraints proactively.
  • Monitor financial performance including revenue invoicing cost expenses cash flow and profitability while maintaining accurate forecasts and progress reports.
  • Identify qualify and manage risks and opportunities implementing mitigation and contingency plans to improve project outcomes.
  • Handle disciplined contract variation and claims management ensuring customer change requests are documented and approved.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for project-related matters fostering strong relationships and clear communication with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate engineering supply chain suppliers subcontractors logistics site activities and testing requirements.
  • Review and manage project documentation including drawings schedules reports and technical deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies contractual obligations quality standards and health safety and environmental regulations.
  • Capture and share lessons learned contribute to project reviews and enhance project execution tools and processes.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and mentor junior project professionals as needed.
Qualifications

To excel in this role you will need:

  • A Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive project management experience in the high-voltage electrical industry or a comparable energy infrastructure or heavy-industry environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing scope schedule cost resources suppliers and subcontractors from handover to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment and substations; experience with Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and transmission/distribution products is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with primary and schematic drawings for high-voltage products as well as applicable IEC and Australian Standards.
  • Solid commercial and contractual skills including contract review risk management variations and claims.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams across local and international locations.
Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

  • Leading project meetings and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress and financial performance ensuring alignment with scope schedule and budget.
  • Addressing technical and commercial challenges resolving issues and mitigating risks.
  • Reviewing and approving project documentation including technical drawings and reports.
  • Engaging with customers to provide updates address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with engineering supply chain and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Preparing progress reports and maintaining accurate project forecasts.
