About the Role

Youll play a vital role in supporting individuals who have experienced domestic family and sexual violence as well as survivors of institutional childhood sexual abuse. Working across our Domestic and Family Violence and National Redress Scheme Support Service programs youll provide trauma-informed counselling case management and advocacy that empowers people to improve their safety wellbeing and recovery. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working within a supportive multidisciplinary team in Alice Springs.

What will you be doing

Every day youll have the opportunity to make a real impact by:

• Providing trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic support to individuals with complex experiences of trauma.
• Supporting clients through assessment safety planning advocacy and case management to help them achieve their goals.
• Walking alongside survivors of domestic and family violence and institutional childhood sexual abuse throughout their recovery journey.
• Connecting clients with housing legal health and community services to ensure they receive holistic support.
• Delivering therapeutic groups community outreach and education that strengthens awareness and access to support.
• Building strong relationships with Aboriginal organisations community services and key stakeholders across Central Australia.
• Working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team while maintaining high-quality clinical practice and documentation.

Youre someone who genuinely cares about improving the lives of others and brings both professionalism and empathy to your work.

Youll also have:

• A qualification in Social Work Psychology Counselling or a related discipline.
• Eligibility for membership with AASW ACA PACFA or another relevant professional association.
• Experience providing counselling and case management to people experiencing trauma and complex life circumstances.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice risk assessment safety planning and recovery-focused approaches.
• Confidence working collaboratively with diverse communities including Aboriginal people families and organisations.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills sound professional judgement and the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
• A current Driver Licence Working with Children Clearance and National Criminal History Check.
