Depot Supervisor

Gemco Rail is seeking a Depot Supervisor to join our Dynon team. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out safely efficiently and to a high standard. Working closely with production teams planning HSEQ and customers you will support the delivery of locomotive and rolling stock maintenance services while maintaining compliance quality and performance outcomes.

This role will report to Fleet Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities of this role include:

• Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
• Supervise daily workshop operations ensuring work is completed safely efficiently and to a high standard.
• Manage locomotive defects repairs and return-to-service readiness.
• Coordinate labour materials and resources to meet production and customer requirements.
• Monitor quality compliance and maintenance documentation.
• Conduct toolbox talks pre-start meetings and support risk management activities.
• Manage production issues rework and workforce coverage to minimise operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records job status updates and costing information within business systems.
• Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure maintenance targets and delivery schedules are achieved.
• Support investigations continuous improvement initiatives and other maintenance activities as required.

Essential Knowledge Skills and Experience:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
• Trade qualification (desirable)
• Experience using SAP or similar systems
• Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Minimum 3 years Rolling Stock experience with broad technical and industry knowledge
