Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer (ContolsElectrical)

Who are we

Job Summary:

As part of the Facility team the Facility Engineer is responsible for supervising and performing facilities engineering work including (but not limited to) alarm response fault finding maintenance repairs and modification of equipment relating to controls electrical mechanical fire and security systems.

The role is based at Shenton Park working Monday-Friday daytime hours with the team evenly sharing the on-call roster. For the balance of the current team we are interested in speaking with applicants who have service and maintenance work experience with a focus on controls and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Coordinate and direct vendors on skilled tasks ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out according to standards and requirements
• Assist with the creation and submission of scripts for maintenance and track the work approval process for service providers
• Update technical files for plants and equipment in cooperation with vendors
• Perform site administration and incident support
• Perform site logs and data gathering for permits
• Identify Single Points of Failure (SPOFs)
• Respond to on-site incidents
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Support on-site staff during incidents
• Ensure that processes and procedures are followed and adhered to
• Work with others to resolve difficult facility incidents and collaborate within the department
• Mentor team members on skilled maintenance activities
• Inform stakeholders of inventory needs
• Perform specialized maintenance across disciplines
• Complete work orders and projects
• Collaborate within a cross functional team

Qualifications key skills and experience:

• Certificate III/IV in Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent
• Cert IV Electrotechnology (A-grade electrician)
• Bachelors degree in engineering Electrical Controls
• Experience At least 2 Years workplace experience
• HV Switching desirable
• Knowledge of critical infrastructure equipment such as UPS ATS STS Generators CRAH Chillers BMS PLC etc.
• Past data center or facility engineering experience desirable
• Basic to intermediate computer skills/ Microsoft Office Word and Excel / CAD
• Excellent written and spoken interpersonal communication skills proficient in English
