Conference & Event Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Part-time Conference & Event Supervisor to join our team at Mercure this role you will lead and inspire our conference and events team to deliver outstanding service and create memorable experiences for our corporate and private function guests.
- Supervise the execution of banquet conference and meeting room events ensuring catering timelines AV requirements and room setups strictly align with guest event orders
- Liaise closely with the Conference & Events Sales team to ensure seamless handovers and flawless execution of corporate and private functions
- Oversee daily conference and events operations ensuring smooth service delivery and maintaining high-quality standards throughout all functions
- Lead motivate and develop a team of events and catering staff to achieve operational excellence
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain menu quality consistency and timely delivery for all conference and event requirements
- Manage inventory place orders and control costs whilst upholding product quality for events and functions
- Handle guest inquiries special requests and event modifications resolving issues promptly and professionally
- Assist in creating and implementing innovative conference packages event promotions and catering offerings
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations health and safety standards and company policies across all events
- Monitor and analyse sales data and event performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Conduct regular staff training sessions to enhance service skills product knowledge and event execution capabilities
- Maintain a clean organised and safe work environment for staff and guests throughout all conference and event spaces
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and integrated event delivery
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate contemporary offerings into event packages and menus
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
Service focused personality is essential and a passion for everything food and beverage
Previous experience in a similar leadership role is an asset
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by example
Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is required Approved Manger Card is desired.
Flexibility to work afternoon shifts and weekends as required.
