About therole:
We arecurrently seeking a Community Practitioner to join our team inRockhampton. Our Community Practitioner provides counselling andsupport to individuals young people and families who are subjectto child protection interventions..
What will atypical day look like
- Engage young people carers and young peoples families through the use of a range of counselling and strength-based therapeutic interventions tools perspectives and strategies to improve wellbeing
- Assist families to develop knowledge and skills to provide relevant and positive care for children and young people
- Promote and develop positive working relationships with stakeholders and networks to improve support for young people carers and young peoples families
- Work collaboratively with a young person & their care team to help support placement stability and wellbeing of young person
- Support young people to manage maladaptive and challenging behaviours through supporting young people to identify worries and issues and setting mutually agreed and achievable goals
- Contribute to and facilitate the delivery of educational programs to encourage the development of knowledge skills and confidence in parents and carers to provide care to children and young people
MandatoryRequirements:
- Bachelor or post-graduate qualifications in Social Services Psychology counselling or similar are mandatory.
- Experience in a similar counselling role is highly desirable.
