ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Communications & Fundraising Coordinator sits at the heart of how KTF engages our donors shares our impact and protects our brand. Reporting to the Head of Partnerships & Development and working within our Australian Impact team (Fundraising Communications and MEL) youll help drive both the income and the storytelling behind our education health equality and leadership programs across Papua New Guinea.


This is a broad hands-on role for someone early in their career and ready to own real work from day one. Youll produce content and run our social media deliver fundraising appeals and campaigns coordinate donor recognition and newsletters support our media activity and keep our supporter records tidy and our brand consistent - all while learning the full communications and fundraising cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Working closely with the Head of Partnerships & Development who leads on fundraising and communications strategy targeting and brand standards youll turn that direction into day-to-day delivery across a broad range of responsibilities:

Communications

  • Help build and maintain the KTF communications calendar across campaigns newsletters media and donor plans.
  • Capture and produce content across projects applying a localisation lens.
  • Manage social media including planning content posting and tracking engagement.
  • Prepare and distribute media releases and support media liaison.
  • Keep website content fresh and support production of the Annual Report.
  • Prepare content for key partners to their deadlines.

Donor engagement and fundraising

  • Maintain the KTF donor database and support donor retention and reactivation including day-to-day stewardship of current donors and re-engaging lapsed donors.
  • Deliver targeted fundraising campaigns covering content creative collateral and digital assets.
  • Produce newsletters and donor EDMs and support donor communications reports and plans.
  • Support delivery of KTF events including ticketing donation platforms and fundraising items.
  • Help prepare content that raises the profile of KTF leadership.
  • Assist with donor grant applications reporting and website fundraising content.

Branding compliance and governance

  • Apply KTF brand guidelines across public content and collateral and flag inconsistencies for resolution.
  • Maintain templates boilerplate copy and shared communications resources for the team.
  • Support compliance with relevant accreditation fundraising and donor standards.
  • Administer communications quality-assurance processes including consent and digital asset management.
  • Help develop onboarding materials and support communications induction for staff.


ABOUT YOU:

Skills and attributes youll bring to our team:

Essential

  • 2 years experience in a communications marketing fundraising or supporter-facing role (paid or substantial volunteer experience considered).
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce clear accurate and engaging content for different audiences adapt one story across multiple formats and work to a defined tone and style.
  • Confident across digital communications and social media including content creation scheduling and performance tracking with a willingness to pick up new fundraising events workflow and asset-management systems quickly.
  • Superb organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain a communications calendar and juggle competing deadlines across multiple projects.
  • A collaborative adaptable approach suited to a small team working with program staff leadership and external partners; flexible to support other KTF teams and occasional out-of-hours work around campaigns and events.
  • Culturally aware and committed to locally led ethical storytelling.
  • Relevant qualification in communications marketing international development or a related field or equivalent experience.

Desirable

  • Experience coordinating appeals campaigns or events.
  • Familiarity with grant and donor reporting.
  • Experience drafting media releases or liaising with media.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn fundraising and communications compliance in the Australian NGO context (ACFID FIA ANCP/DFAT).
  • A genuine interest in international development humanitarian work and in KTFs mission in Papua New Guinea.


Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.

This position will require travel both domestically and internationally to PNG from time to time.
