Commissioning Manager - Utility-Scale Solar

About the Employer
Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.

The Opportunity
Lead solar commissioning from mechanical and electrical completion to grid connection on a major New South Wales project. Reporting to project leadership you will coordinate engineers HV operators technicians and equipment suppliers. This is a site-based DIDO role on a 14:7 roster with accommodation and allowances where applicable.

Your Responsibilities
Set the commissioning strategy inspection plans testing procedures and energisation sequence.
Manage hold-point tests against generator performance standards and network requirements.
Coordinate commissioning engineers HV switching teams SCADA technicians and OEM representatives.
Enforce lock-out/tag-out and HV safety procedures during energisation.
Track and resolve electrical mechanical and control-system defects before completion.
Prepare progress reports technical records and operations handover manuals.

Requirements
Skills Education and Requirements
An Electrical Engineering bachelor degree or an electrical trade background with substantial management experience.
Proven commissioning management or lead engineering experience on utility-scale solar wind or BESS; projects above 200 MW are preferred.
Detailed MV/HV inverter tracker and SCADA knowledge.
Understanding of National Electricity Rules AEMO registration and grid connection requirements.
A Construction White Card; HV switching credentials are highly regarded.
Strong communication and practical judgement under delivery pressure.
Current right to live and work in the role location.
