Commis Chef Full-time & Part-time

We are looking for passionate and motivated Commis Chefs to join our culinary team with three opportunities available across our different food and beverage operations.

These positions offer the opportunity to work across a diverse hotel kitchen environment preparing food for conferences events and banqueting as well as our breakfast and In-Room Dining services. You will gain valuable experience across a variety of service styles and volumes from large-scale events to daily breakfast and personalised dining experiences delivered directly to our guests rooms.

Part-Time Commis Chef Pastore

Our third opportunity is based in Pastore Hotel Chadstones signature modern Italian restaurant. Working primarily across lunch and dinner à la carte service you will be part of a kitchen that blends Italian tradition with Melbourne creativity. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a refined restaurant environment working with quality ingredients and delivering beautifully presented dishes to our guests.

What youll be doing

• Assist with the preparation cooking and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with our culinary standards
• Complete mise en place efficiently and to a high standard in preparation for service
• Work alongside experienced chefs to develop your culinary skills and knowledge
• Maintain exceptional hygiene organisation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen
• Follow recipes presentation standards and food safety procedures consistently
• Support smooth and efficient service across your designated kitchen operation
• Assist with stock rotation portion control and minimising food waste
• Work collaboratively with the wider culinary team to deliver exceptional food and memorable guest experiences
• Take pride in your work and contribute to a positive professional and supportive kitchen culture

Qualifications :

• Previous experience as a Commis Chef Apprentice Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen
• A genuine passion for food and a desire to continue developing your culinary skills
• Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation and quality
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced chefs
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings evenings weekends and public holidays depending on the position
