Job Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join the Enterprise and Computer Storage Services team within Group Technology where you will be responsible for building and operating scalable AWS cloud platforms enabling DevOps practices driving automation and ensuring secure reliable and cost-efficient application delivery with a strong emphasis on hands-on experience with Amazon EKS platform stability security and performance.
- Build and manage AWS cloud infrastructure including EKS-based container platforms ensuring scalability resilience and high performance
- Develop and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code and automate deployments and operational workflows
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines while enabling standardised DevOps practices and deployment patterns
- Implement monitoring logging alerting and SRE practices to support reliability incident management and platform stability
- Apply cloud security best practices ensure compliance and optimise cost and performance through efficient resource utilisation
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (VPC IAM EC2 S3 RDS Lambda) and proven capability in designing cloud-native architectures
- Mandatory experience with Amazon EKS and a solid understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) with experience automating environment provisioning and deployments
- Demonstrated experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for both application and infrastructure delivery
- Strong knowledge of containerisation (Docker microservices) and observability tools (e.g. CloudWatch Prometheus Grafana) including production support and incident management
- Solid understanding of cloud security (IAM RBAC secrets management network security) along with experience in cost optimisation and performance tuning in AWS environments
- Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect) experience within ITIL-aligned environments or regulated industries and strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios
