About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Research Nurse (Trial Coordinator) to join our team at St Vincents Hospital this role you will be responsible for the coordination and management of cardiothoracic and surgical oncology research projects including research across areas such as breast plastics and urology. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team liaising with medical and nursing staff internal departments across St Vincents Hospital Melbourne and external stakeholders to ensure research projects are delivered effectively and in accordance with best practice.

Salary: Classification will be Research Nurse Level 1 & Level 2

Key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and managing clinical research projects and clinical trials

• Maintaining accurate timely and confidential research documentation and records

• Liaising with multidisciplinary teams including medical nursing and allied health staff

• Coordinating communication between the Cardiothoracic Department other SVHM departments and external research stakeholders

• Supporting the collection management and reporting of research data

• Ensuring research activities comply with relevant legislation ethical requirements and Good Clinical Practice

• Providing information and support to staff involved in research projects

• Contributing to best-practice research processes and high-quality patient care

Classification: Research Nurse Level 1 in accordance with the Nursing EBA.

• Knowledge of clinical and organisational considerations relevant to clinical research activities

• An understanding of clinical trial processes and Good Clinical Practice

• Ability to coordinate research activities while managing competing priorities and deadlines

• A strong commitment to providing high-quality person-centred care

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

• A professional and collaborative approach when working with patients colleagues and external stakeholders

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to manage research documentation information and data effectively

• Understanding of confidentiality legislative requirements and Good Clinical Practice

• Confidence using technology and electronic systems to support research activities

Essential Requirements

• Current National Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain one

• Relevant nursing qualifications and registration as required for the position

• Commitment to meeting mandatory healthcare vaccination requirements
