Whats the role

The Commodities Transition and Trade division within WIB has recently been created to centralise WIBs offerings to clients on Commodities trading energy transition and trade finance. As part of this we are recruiting for a new Chief Engineer role to lead the Commodities engineering team supporting this business.

This role will be managing the Commodities engineering team working closely with the Commodities Chief Product Owner to drive technology strategy and deliver tech change to support the growth ambitions of the business.

As Chief Engineer Commodities youll be responsible for the Delivery of new product capability on a combination of the existing financial markets platforms including Murex and risk product systems and new build for specialist you will ensure stability resilience and cyber safety across all deliveries. Youll be driving excellence in change execution and uplifting engineering practices and delivery. As a leaders you will be responsible for providing dedicated leadership and workforce strategy for the Commodities engineering team and managing business and investment costs.

What do I need

  • Understanding of capital markets concepts understanding and appreciation for the quantitative and mathematical aspects of trading and risk familiarity with key vendors in this space
  • Hands-on experience with Murex or similar front-to-back trading and risk product systems (e.g. Calypso) including their configuration integration and change delivery lifecycle.
  • Specific experience and focus on Commodities products within capital markets and an appreciation of markets and trading culture and demands
  • Knowledge of markets asset classes we trade and their derivatives how they are priced their lifecycles language and conventions.
  • Deep digital and engineering expertise and ability to drive engineering excellence.
  • Strong track record of delivery excellence in markets and risk environments
  • Prior experience working with financial systems in Investment/Institutional Banks
  • Exceptional leadership and people skills and ability to create inclusive diverse cooperative and collegiate team culture across direct team peers and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
