This is a world where youll discover something new every OPPORTUNITYReporting to the Head Chef the Chef De Partie will provide support in the day to day operation of Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust (SMCT) kitchens based at Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Bunurong Memorial Park. The Chef De Partie will be relied upon to coordinate the daily operations of all Café Vita Flores activities and when needed assist the Head Chef to delegate tasks to kitchen staff and work to resolve any operational problems if they include:Ensure all kitchen staff operate efficiently and effectively in line with SMCTs operational policies procedures and manage kitchen staff and lead by example by demonstrating the SMCT Values at all all employees provide a clear handover during shift changes and that each shift is reviewed and handovers/briefings are carried efficient stock management and wastage required performance reviews for all kitchen employees and set a professional level of grooming and personal presentation at all times as per the SMCT Dress Code the Food Safety Plan and HACCP Management System ensuring compliance at all times to legislative requirementsAdhere to all local state and federal laws and regulations in regards to workplace health and safetyTake ownership for ensuring that all employees across the kitchen café and florist comply with Workplace Health and Safety legislative requirementsEnsure that all digital reporting platforms are maintained and updated with all incidents and that all records are kept up to dateMonitor awareness and ensure that all employees understand and comprehend fire and evacuation proceduresOther duties as directedABOUT YOUMinimum 2 years experience managing a team of employees within the Hospitality industry or qualifications or certifications in Commercial Cookery or experience in end to end management of corporate catering during both weekdays and knowledge and understanding of current food trends in Australian Retail Food understanding of HACCP and food safety practices and to date knowledge of labour laws and health team player with strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.A demonstrated customer centric presentation with a confident to work under pressure to achieve attention to -motivated with exceptional time management and organisational to display initiative when to be flexible to work across multiple SMCT Victorian Drivers WITH US:We offer a fulfilling career with exceptional personal and professional growth opportunities along with a comprehensive range of benefits including:Leadership and Development programsFlexible working Health Wellbeing and Assistance Programs including complimentary onsite physio services.A range of leave entitlements including:16 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and 6 weeks for secondary carersReproductive Health and Wellbeing leaveGender Affirmation leaveCultural/Ceremonial leaveThe opportunity to purchase additional annual available at our employee café and onsite meet every requirement We still encourage you to apply your unique strengths might be just what we care for our colleagues and the community we serve.
