Business Development Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategically minded highly driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our commercial strategy and market expansion across the MICE (Meetings Incentives Conferences & Events) and Group sectors on a full-time basis.
In this dedicated role you will be the driving force behind new business acquisition and market share growth. You will aggressively hunt for new opportunities secure key corporate and MICE contracts and maximize revenue across our event facilities and accommodation inventory.
- Proactively target source and secure high-value meetings conferences and corporate events for Mercure Perths versatile event spaces.
Convert group leadsincluding sports teams tour operators corporate delegations and government travelwhile strategically expanding high-yield accounts in alignment with the Director of Sales.
Conduct regular sales calls industry networking client presentations and site inspections to build a robust pipeline of new business.
Draft proposals negotiate commercial terms and secure long-term agreements that maximize revenue and GOP (Gross Operating Profit).
Work closely with the Director of Sales and Revenue Manager to optimize yield monitor competitor activity and maintain accurate pipeline tracking in hotel CRM systems.
Qualifications :
Proven track record in a BDM or senior sales role within midscale/upscale hotels convention venues or hospitality sales with direct experience in MICE and Groups.
Exceptional prospecting negotiation and closing capabilities with a self-driven approach to achieving revenue targets.
Strong understanding of the Perth CBD corporate and conference landscape local event managers and PCO (Professional Conference Organiser) networks.
Outstanding interpersonal pitch and presentation skills tailored to corporate bookers and event decision-makers.
Hands-on experience with hotel management systems and CRMs
