Bookkeeper
Job Summary
Our client is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join the Accounting Team and help deliver accurate efficient and scalable finance operations across an expanding portfolio of clients.
- Manage daily bookkeeping tasks for a range of clients including bank reconciliations accounts payable and receivable and maintaining general ledgers.
- Assist with BAS/IAS preparation payroll processing (including STP 2.0) and superannuation compliance requirements.
- Support month-end procedures including journals accruals and preparation of workpapers.
- Ensure all financial work is completed accurately and complies with Australian accounting and regulatory standards.
- Assist in preparing management reports and financial summaries for clients.
- Respond to routine client queries and escalate more complex matters to the Senior Accountant when required.
- Help improve the accuracy and turnaround time of client deliverables.
- Document processes clearly to ensure client workflows data and operational nuances are properly maintained.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support automation initiatives within the technology stack including Microsoft 365 Xero and Dext.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Accountant and wider team to maintain strong workflow and quality standards.
- Provide assistance and guidance to junior team members where needed.
- Contribute to a collaborative accountable and process-focused team culture.
- Experience: 25 years bookkeeping experience within an Australian public practice or multi-client environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with Xero and related applications such as Dext Syft and Xero Practice Manager.
- Attention to Detail: Highly accurate with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Process-Oriented: Comfortable working within evolving systems and contributing ideas for process improvements.
- Communication: Professional and confident communication skills when dealing with both clients and internal stakeholders.
