About this role

As anAssociateor Senior Associate in our MelbourneForensic Accountingpractice you will have the opportunity to develop your career on your own terms as part of a high-performing motivated team.

You will apply your experience and expertise across a broad range of forensic engagements including contentious valuations commercial loss and damage claims insurance events accounting reviews and investigations. This role within our Melbourne team is for a motivated individual primarily undertaking Dispute Advisory assignments.

Some of the exciting projects this team has recently worked on include:

  • Assessment of economic loss in large insurance litigation claims
  • Complex valuations for family law and estate disputes
  • Acting as a Court appointed Independent Expert in the Supreme Court of Victoria
  • Review of transactions across several financial years to identify misreporting of transactions and alleged fraud

Key responsibilities

  • Advise on a broad range of forensic engagements including business valuations commercial loss and damage claims insurance events and accounting reviews and investigations
  • Build and maintain beneficial stakeholder relationships including client liaison and the provision of trusted expert advice
  • Detailed review and analysis of the financial performance of businesses
  • Research and analysis of a variety of business industry and economic data and information
  • Participate in business development and practice management activities as well as provide coaching mentoring and training opportunities to other team members

Skills and experience

  • CA/CPA/CFA qualified or currently working towards your qualification

  • Forensic accounting experience is preferred but not essential
  • Professional services experience is essential
  • Strong analytical skills and mindset complemented by lateral and critical thinking capability
  • Conscientious with a strong degree of accuracy and keen eye for detail
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
